Verdicchio

A fascinating white found primarily in the Marche of Italy where Verdicchio wines are loved for their sweet, peachy aromatics and somewhat oily texture. Pairing: A great aperitif wine served alongside marcona almonds, Proscuitto, savory tarts, potato-cheese puff pastries, quiche and savory soufflés. Profile (Wine Folly): Dry, Light Body, None Tannins, Medium-high Acidity, 11.5–13.5% ABV. Serving: serve at 38–45°F / 3-7°C; white-wine glass; no need to decant; cellar 1–3 years.
